Industrial Corrosion Protection in the Power Generation Industry

In power plants, maximum system availability and long-term operational reliability must be guaranteed on an ongoing basis. This can only be achieved by using the best possible corrosion protection for plant systems and components. STEULER-KCH’s innovative material developments and lining technologies, our many years of experience and our record of reliable project management, make us one of the leading suppliers of corrosion protection systems to the power generation and supply sector. We supply and install comprehensive corrosion protection systems for bituminous coal, lignite and heavy fuel oil-fired power stations, hydroelectric power stations and nuclear power stations.

STEULER-KCH's reliable corrosion protection linings include rubber linings, synthetic resin coatings and brick linings using acid-resistant bricks and synthetic resin mortars. These are used in all areas of the power plant for steel and concrete structures, as thermoplastic systems, or as linings for plant equipment, pipelines and other plant components. The areas in which they are used include:

  • Boiler house, turbine hall, water reclamation plant
  • Plant areas and chemical storage warehouses compliant with the German Water Management Act - WHG (§§ 62/63)
  • Untreated flue gas ducts, flue gas scrubbers, clean gas ducts and heat exchangers
  • Tanks and pits
  • Rubber linings and flake coatings in chimney systems

STEULER-KCH also specialises in

  • Scrubber linings with mechanically anchored polypropylene liners (BEKAPLAST® system)
  • Coal bunker linings using the BEKAPLAST® PE1000 system, mechanically anchored in the concrete
  • Mechanically anchored thermoplastic systems (BEKAPLAST® ) for trenches, pits and vessels
  • Mechanically anchored stainless steel lining systems for surface areas, plants and rooms subject to extremely high mechanical stress (BEKASTEEL®)
